Pilot Mound Hockey Academy Set to Host CSSHL Male U17 Showcase November 12–15, 2026
PILOT MOUND, MB – Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (PMHA) is preparing to welcome teams, families, scouts, and hockey fans to southern Manitoba as the Academy hosts a Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) Male U17 Showcase from November 12–15, 2026.
The four-day showcase will bring CSSHL U17 competition to Pilot Mound, Swan Lake, and Manitou, with games taking place across the three communities. The event will provide participating student-athletes with an opportunity to compete in a showcase environment while bringing high-level hockey to communities throughout the Pembina Valley region.
For Pilot Mound Hockey Academy, hosting a CSSHL Showcase represents an exciting opportunity to welcome the broader hockey community to the region while showcasing the facilities, volunteers, businesses, and communities that help make hockey possible in rural Manitoba.
“We are extremely excited to welcome the CSSHL and its U17 programs to our region,” said Nichole Collins, General Manager of PMHA. “Events like this are about much more than what happens on the ice. They provide an opportunity for our communities to come together, welcome visitors from across Western Canada, and showcase everything that Pilot Mound, Swan Lake, Manitou, and the surrounding area have to offer.”
From Thursday, November 12 through Sunday, November 15, the region will become a hub for U17 hockey, with players taking the ice throughout the weekend as part of the CSSHL schedule.
Showcase events are an important part of the CSSHL season, bringing multiple programs together in one location and creating an exciting atmosphere for players, coaches, families, fans, and members of the hockey community. For the athletes, the weekend provides another opportunity to compete against strong opposition and continue their development throughout the season.
Hosting the event across three communities also provides an opportunity to spread the excitement beyond a single arena. Pilot Mound, Swan Lake, and Manitou each have strong connections to grassroots hockey, and their arenas will play an important role in making the weekend possible.
The showcase is also expected to have a positive impact away from the rink. Visiting teams and their families will spend several days in the region, supporting local accommodations, restaurants, fuel stations, retailers, and other businesses. Events of this size demonstrate the important role sport can play in supporting rural communities while introducing visitors to communities they may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience.
For PMHA, the weekend will also provide an opportunity to showcase the continued growth of its hockey program and the community support surrounding the Academy.
Pilot Mound Hockey Academy has long emphasized the value of combining competitive hockey with education, personal development, and community involvement. Bringing a CSSHL showcase to the region allows the Academy to provide its athletes with a high-level competitive experience close to home while giving local hockey fans the chance to see CSSHL action in their own communities.
The success of a multi-community event would not be possible without the support of arena staff, volunteers, community organizations, local businesses, officials, families, and countless individuals working behind the scenes. PMHA extends its appreciation to Pilot Mound, Swan Lake, and Manitou for helping welcome the CSSHL hockey community to southern Manitoba.
“We are very fortunate to have tremendous support throughout our region,” PMHA added. “Hosting an event across three communities takes a significant amount of coordination and teamwork. We are grateful to everyone who will help make this showcase a positive experience for the players, coaches, families, scouts, and spectators visiting our communities.”
The November showcase will also offer local families and young hockey players an opportunity to watch some of the CSSHL's U17 student-athletes compete close to home. PMHA hopes fans throughout the region will take advantage of the opportunity, attend games, support the participating teams, and help create a memorable atmosphere inside each arena.
With games spread throughout Pilot Mound, Swan Lake, and Manitou, the showcase will be a true regional event, highlighting not only competitive hockey but also the strong community spirit that continues to support the game throughout rural Manitoba.
As November approaches, Pilot Mound Hockey Academy will release additional information regarding participating teams, game schedules, arena locations, admission details, and other event information.
The CSSHL Male U17 Showcase runs November 12–15, 2026, with games hosted in Pilot Mound, Swan Lake, and Manitou, Manitoba.
Pilot Mound Hockey Academy looks forward to welcoming players, coaches, families, scouts, and hockey fans for four days of CSSHL action and an opportunity to experience everything the region has to offer.
